The Sustainable Village

2C Energy, through its sister non-profit company, SunHawk Energy International, has joined with Child Legacy International to develop a Sustainable Village in Malawi, Africa, consistent with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals. The objective of our Sustainable Village Project is to create a repeatable road map for breaking the generational cycle of poverty in sub-Saharan Africa by integrating the economic, social and environmental elements of sustainability. This holistic approach is designed to empower community members to effect lasting change in their community.
“There are no clinics in Malawi running off of renewable energy, yet Child Legacy International is powering an entire hospital without blackouts.  They prove that renewable energy can make all things possible in rural Africa.” -The Medical Council of Malawi

Our Sustainable Village is built on six pillars of sustainable living

1. Clean Water

2. Clean Energy

3. Proper Nutrition

4. Quality Healthcare

5. Foundational Education and Vocational Training

6. Equitable Access to Productive Employment and Sustainable Economic Growth

We believe these six essentials of life are fundamental to any long term, sustainable solution to the elimination of poverty in all its forms.
